How to estimate chatbot ROI honestly.
The useful question isn't “how much could AI save?” but “how much of my support could it answer well from my own content?”. Start from last month's questions and sort them: order status, shipping, returns and product questions that your pages already answer are realistic for an AI grounded in your content. Edge cases, complaints and anything that needs a judgement call should stay with a person.
Measure the inputs
- Count questions across chat, email and social for a full month.
- Time a sample of 20 replies, including the time spent looking things up.
- Use the full hourly cost, including overhead, or your own time if you answer.

Where do the numbers come from?
Only from what you type. The calculator multiplies your monthly questions by your minutes per answer and hourly cost, takes the share you set for AI, and subtracts the SuperBot plan that fits your volume. The starting values are placeholders, not industry benchmarks.
What share of questions can an AI chatbot answer?
It depends on your store and your content, so the calculator leaves it to you and starts at 50%. Look at last month's questions: the ones about orders, shipping, returns and products that your pages already answer are the ones an AI grounded in your content can take on.
What does the estimate leave out?
Setup time, time spent reviewing AI answers and teaching new ones, and any change in sales. It also treats each question as one conversation, which is the conservative way to pick a plan.
